fractured ankle compensation claim, Asda pay out £10,000
In September 2011 Asda, Peterborough paid out on a fractured ankle compensation claim, amazingly it was the second successful personal injury compensation claim in four months.
The latest pay out was to a shopper, Mrs. Patricia Hill, who had slipped on discarded fruit and veg in the Rivergate store. Asda had only recently made a £10,000 compensation pay out to another shopper who also slipped in an aisle inside the Rivergate store.
After legal proceedings the substantial settlement was agreed with Asda for the 74 year old’s knee and ankle injuries.
Mrs Hill was helped by one of the Asda employees who arranged for an ambulance to take her to Peterborough General Hospital, where she remained for 5 days as the result of a closed fracture of the tibial plateau.
Mrs Hill returned home with a long leg cast, which stayed on for 4 months. During this time, life for Mrs Hill was painful and difficult. With no family nearby she has had to rely on friends and paid help for shopping, cleaning and other household and personal chores. While Mrs Hill’s secured a good level of compensation, she faces uncertainty as to her future health.
